Candidate Profile: Caroline Elliott

Caroline Elliott — Leadership Candidate, Conservative Party of British Columbia

Caroline Elliott is a political commentator, policy consultant and academic entering the 2026 Conservative Party of British Columbia leadership contest. She announced her candidacy in January 2026 as one of several contenders vying to become the province’s next Conservative leader.

Elliott is based in the Greater Vancouver area and holds a PhD in democratic theory and Canadian government from Simon Fraser University, giving her a strong academic foundation in political philosophy and public policy. Prior to her leadership bid, she built a career as a commentator on provincial and national politics across multiple platforms, and has co-founded the public policy website Without Diminishment.

Her leadership campaign has drawn attention in part for its experienced team: among the high-profile staff assisting her bid is Kory Teneycke, a veteran political strategist with ties to federal and provincial conservative campaigns.

Elliott’s public commentary has focused on issues such as provincial economic policy, democratic governance and criticism of what she terms the government’s “radical reconciliation agenda.” She positions her campaign as a call for renewed conservative leadership in British Columbia, emphasizing a blend of fiscal conservatism and cultural policy critiques.

While she has not previously held elected office, Elliott’s background as a commentator and strategist, along with her academic credentials and campaign team, form the core of her bid to lead the Conservative Party into the next provincial election.
