Errol Povah is the Freedom Party of BC candidate for Surrey-Serpentine River on Elections BC’s accepted nominations list for the 2026 provincial election. A Queensborough/Nanaimo-area resident, he is a Royal Canadian Navy veteran and retired BC Ferries second (navigating) officer after about 30 years with the ferry corporation. He ran as an Independent in Richmond-Queensborough in the 2024 provincial election, campaigning on education, health care and opposition to carbon taxes and certain education and public-health policies. Media coverage in 2026 has also linked him to activism around municipal Pride crosswalk disputes involving Freedom Party figures.
