About
Aman Singh is the BC NDP candidate for Vancouver-Fraserview and president of the BC NDP (since November 2025). Born in Punjab, India, he grew up partly in Hong Kong before studying physics and anthropology at UC Berkeley and earning a law degree from the University of Victoria. He practised human and civil rights law and lived for many years in Richmond before moving to Delta’s Sunshine Hills. He first ran for Richmond-Queensborough in 2017, won the seat in 2020—becoming the first turban-wearing Sikh elected as a B.C. MLA—and served as Parliamentary Secretary for Environment (2022–2024). He lost Richmond-Queensborough in 2024 and was confirmed as the NDP’s Vancouver-Fraserview candidate in September 2026 after longtime MLA George Chow stepped aside from the nomination.
