Scott MacDonald (Donald Scott MacDonald) is the BC Green Party candidate for Vancouver-West End. A recently retired physician and longtime downtown Vancouver resident, he practised medicine for more than three decades, including about 20 years in downtown Vancouver with a focus on primary care and addictions medicine through 2026. His career included work in northern Manitoba and Nunavut, HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C care, methadone maintenance, service as medical director of Casey House Hospice in Toronto, work at St. Paul’s and Wellesley hospitals, and earlier service as a physician with the Canadian military in Halifax. He holds an Honours B.Sc. in biochemistry from Mount Allison University and an M.D. from Dalhousie University, with a rotating internship at the University of Ottawa. In 2025 he was the Green Party of Canada candidate in Vancouver Centre. Party materials emphasize accessible health care, safe neighbourhoods, and sustainability.
