Spencer Chandra Herbert is the BC NDP candidate for Vancouver-West End and the sitting MLA, first elected in a 2008 by-election and repeatedly re-elected. He became Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation in July 2025 after serving as Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. Before politics he was an artist and performing-arts producer and a Vancouver Park Board commissioner, known for advocacy on renter rights, homelessness, and the arts.
