He is 64, a former Ashcroft teacher, and a senior labour relations officer for occupational health and safety with the Health Sciences Association. Before provincial politics he was mayor of Kamloops for three terms and a city councillor, chaired the Thompson Regional Hospital District for five terms, and sat on the Thompson-Nicola Regional District board. View profile →

Rocky McAfee is the OneBC candidate for Kamloops Centre on Elections BC’s accepted nominations list for the October 24, 2026 provincial election (candidate report stamped October 3, 2026, 2:00 p.m.). Castanet Kamloops reported on October 2, 2026 that OneBC said it had selected candidates for both Kamloops ridings but had not yet released names; McAfee’s filing for Kamloops Centre appears on the subsequent Elections BC update (Deborah Friesen remains OneBC’s nominee in neighbouring Kamloops-North Thompson). OneBC’s public candidates page did not yet list him at the time of research, and no independent profile of his occupation or prior candidacy was found.

Thaelo Proctor

Independent
View profile →

Thaelo Proctor is the Independent candidate for Kamloops Centre on Elections BC’s accepted nominations list for the October 24, 2026 provincial election (candidate report stamped October 3, 2026, 7:00 p.m.). Elections BC had briefly listed him under Kelowna Centre on the 6:00 p.m. report; the 7:00 p.m. update places him in Kamloops Centre with Conservative Peter Milobar, NDP Mike Wisla, BC Green Annelise Beach, and OneBC Rocky McAfee. Castanet Kamloops (Sept. 29, 2026) profiled him as a 23-year-old carpenter preparing an independent bid aimed at Kamloops Centre—growing up in Kamloops (North Shore and Brocklehurst schools), working about four years as a carpenter on the Sunshine Coast, then returning to the area about a year and a half before the campaign—with no previous political experience and a volunteer-heavy “service-first” approach. His nomination financial-agent address on the Elections BC report is in Kamloops.
