View profile →

Carson Binda is the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Vancouver-Quilchena. The Western Standard reported that the party named him on September 29, 2026 to run against OneBC leader and incumbent Dallas Brodie, who won the seat for the Conservatives in 2024 before being removed from that caucus in 2025. The same report described Binda as the former British Columbia director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, where he argued for lower taxes, accountable government, and responsible public spending, and said he has worked on municipal, provincial, and federal campaigns and served as a logistics officer in the army reserve.

Dallas Brodie

OneBC
View profile →

Dallas Brodie is the OneBC candidate for Vancouver-Quilchena and the party’s interim leader. She is the sitting MLA for the riding, first elected on October 19, 2024, as a Conservative, with 11,464 votes (51.6 percent), succeeding Kevin Falcon. She placed fourth in the April 30, 2022 Vancouver-Quilchena by-election as the Conservative candidate, with 698 votes (6.6 percent). Born in Vancouver on February 7, 1962, she holds a B.A. in political science from Princeton University, a J.D. from the University of Toronto, and a broadcasting-journalism certificate from BCIT, and studied for a time at the University of Paris. She has worked as a criminal defence lawyer on Legal Aid youth cases, as a Residential Tenancy Branch arbitrator for about a decade until 2017, and in broadcasting as a CBC producer in Toronto and Ottawa, at CKNW in Vancouver, and as a weekly host on UBC’s CITR-FM. She was the Conservative attorney general critic from November 20, 2024, until March 7, 2025, when leader John Rustad expelled her from caucus. Rustad said she had used her platform as an MLA to mock testimony from victims alleging abuse, including child sexual abuse, after posts and remarks about residential schools that Indigenous organizations condemned as denialism. On June 9, 2025, she and fellow independent MLA Tara Armstrong launched OneBC, with Brodie as interim leader. The party board removed her as leader on December 13, 2025; she was reinstated on December 21 after that board, including Armstrong, resigned. OneBC’s site still lists her as interim leader and as its Vancouver-Quilchena candidate. A recall petition against her, approved in May 2026, failed in July 2026 with 3,663 signatures, short of the 15,232 required. She lives in the riding and has two children.
